Be Spectacled...

My new glasses...

As you can see this pic was taken with my webcam, so pardon the graininess... But aren't my new babies fab?! Decidedly geek chic, but a more grown up and sophisticated version. I love them!!

Accessories...

Though usually an afterthought accessories can really make an outfit. I love a good shoe, no doubt, but these accessories are certainly worth a mention.

First up, the ever-fabulous Viviana

Her bracelets! Just wow! ... plus OMG those shoes!

(ETA: The bracelets are by Angela Caputi.)

This outfit just wouldn't be the same without those glasses/shades. And even though I am not the biggest Chanel fan, the bag looks fab on her!

ETA: The gloves!!

For my Ladies...

Blessed are the warriors... the suffragettes... the poets... the boat rockers... the pioneers... the troublemakers... the uppity women... the artists... the unsatisfied... the daring...the inventors... the questioners... the belligerent... the free spirits and most of all the Wild Women!

The Randomness...

I'm enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon on the couch and just had, I swear, my last white chocolate KitKat Chunky.

So now to the randomness...

One of my lazy afternoon guilty pleasures is checking out photographer Scarlett Lilian Williams' blog. I especially love her wedding photography.

There's something deliciously voyeuristic about looking at strangers' weddings. Especially from the comfort of your own couch.

I have a sudden obsession with Frida Kahlo's hair.

and I'm wondering how I can rework that look for everyday. :-)

Didn't you just LOVE Tara Lynn for French Elle April 2010?

She seems to be a really nice girl too. Check out this interview with her for SeattleMag.com.

With Friends like These...

Last year I lived through one of the most scary and challenging years of my life and I have to say if it wasn't for my friends (and of course the everloving BF) I don't know how I would have made it through. Their support still amazes me. And when it was all over and my faith in my self was still shaky from the experience, they were right there with encouragement in the form of "Fashion Blogs" by Krista van der Niet & Felicia Nitzsche, a reminder of their faith in me.

Last Sunday I had brunch with my babes and received those beautiful peacock earrings from Ras who read my blog and saw that I was on the look out for a pair. And that beautiful beaded necklace was a gift from Fran, who picked it up because she thought it was so me.

Thank you guys for your never ending love and support. I am truly blessed to have friends like you!

Lots of love, hugs and mocchakisses!

SOTD...

It's an other rainy day in Holland. My shoe of the day: My Hunter Wellies!

I've had them for about 3 years now, but despite ample opportunity to wear wellies in Holland, I hardly ever do. Time for a change.

Have a great day guys!

Seriously..?

When I'm out and about I have a tendency to check out peoples' shoes. I can't help it, I just LOVE shoes. Generally there's not that much so see, but the rare occasions that I catch a glimpse of something special, totally make up for that. Last week, though I saw something that really made me do a double take. I spotted this girl who had what looked like a lace g-string peeping out of her shoes.

I seriously had an involuntary Scooby Doo moment. You know, like: Hhrrrooughh?

This called for some investigation. I just had to find out what the heck that was! My search quickly brought me to Toe-G.com. Actual lingerie for your feet, created for "those moments when shoes are not the right look, but a barefoot seems so under dressed." ...ehhh, foot fetishes aside... seriously?  Here are some of the options to choose from.

Now, I'm not saying these are ugly. Those last ones with the flowers are actually kinda cute. I could totally see myself wearing those for my dream barefoot beach wedding someday, but to run around the city with them sticking out of my courts is a whole other story.

Toe-G, unfortunately, was not the only site my search turned up... Brace yourself now...

This is just WRONG!!! On soooooooo many levels, but whatever floats your boat right? And if you'd like to get your own pair of leopard print "Foot Undeez", you crazy freak, you can get these at Capezio. And no, I'm not linking you to the site. I outright refuse to facilitate you in this. :-p

The Randomness...

It's Sunday afternoon, time for some randomness...

Ever searched high and low for the perfect pair of shoes to go with that special outfit? In vain? Wouldn't it be nice if you could design your own shoes?

Well the answer is here: Shoes of Prey. One of my best friends tipped me on them this week. (Thanks Fran!) They offer a wide range of designs to choose from, in a multitude of textures and fabrics. It's so simple, literally 1, 2, 3 easy.

1. You choose the design you want.

2. You choose the fabric and color you want.

3. You click "Buy Now" and the shoes are shipped to your door! They even have a 30 day return policy! How utterly FAB is that!?

So now I'm thinking about shoes (well... to be honest, I'm always thinking about shoes) and with fall just around the corner, specifically winter boots. The only problem is that nothing is really grabbing my attention, except for these Chloé boots. I love the dainty scallop detailing on the back and the shape is just about perfect.

Available at Net-A-Porter for € 845. But I'll be keeping my eye out for a cheaper alternative.

For the first time ever I'm thinking about the upcoming fashion weeks and wishing I could go to New York fashion week this year.

A sign of things to come? Who knows. It's definitely been a dream of mine to visit New York one day. I will follow through on this feeling though and view the shows as they come online at style.com. I might even do a couple of reviews of the shows here on the blog. We'll see.

Another dream of mine has been to learn to speak French. I lived in Paris for about three months in the summer of 2000 and it's never let me go. Here's a beginners lesson in pronunciation I found on youtube today. As a big LV lover I think it's the perfect place to start ;-) Parlez vous LV?

Have a great week guys!

Lanvin ♥ HM

So after much speculation H&M announced it today, the 2010 designer collaboration of Swedish fashion retailer is with none other than Lanvin.

Am I disappointed that it's Alber Elbaz instead of Bottega Veneta's Tomas Maier? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. However, Lanvin is known for it's beautifully sleek yet always über luxurious design, so I'm very curious to see what this collaborations produces. Check out what Lanvin's Alber Elbaz has to say about the collaboration.

... oh and I have to admit that I'm also relieved I won't have to do any camping. ;-)
