Peachy Orange Silk...

Isn't it amazing what a person can accomplish when they are not procrastinating? :)

I made this dress yesterday. I've had the fabric for more than a year now. My local fabric store had this sort of crushed silk for sale. I bought a few colors, with the intention of making some cute summer dresses and skirts.

Of course I started off great. I made this yellow pencil skirt last year and wore it like this:

... and then proceeded to do nothing at all. :( Any ideas for the two colors left?

Nautical Stripes...

I love the simplicity of this outfit.

I can't remember where I found the photo though... It was either Garance Doré or The Sartorialist, but it was a few months back. Waaaay before the weather looked anything like spring here in the Netherlands, but I had hope. ;) Anyway, here's my version of the look for way, way less.

The dress is really a large t-shirt on sale from h&m for €9 and the sandals are from Primark. I think they were €8, could be €10. The belt is from Zara, €30. Imagine, the belt is the most expensive item of the whole outfit. :) I wore it with big gold studs and this black fringe bag from h&m, which I'm pretty sure was about €20.

Swimmin' in it...

Okay, let's talk swimwear for a minute. Last week-end was the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim 2010. The fashion week for swimwear.

One of my favorite swimwear desingers, CIA.Marítima showed their 2010 collection there. I have to say I liked it much better than their 2009 collection. My favorites:

I love CIA.Marítima swimwear and I look forward to their collections every year, but this year it was Aqua di Lara that really got me exicited. It was just something special with beautiful, beautiful, sexy pieces! It's hard to pick favorites when you love everything, but I tried. These are some of my favorites:

Going green...

Green nail polishes have been popping up left and right. Even on the Chanel Fall RTW 2009 runway. I think it's kinda cute.

Chanel's color is called "Jade" and as I understand it's going to be released in October as a limited edition.

I've seen two other colors that are very similar.

OPI - Go on Green

And Ciaté - Apples and Custard

But I love a bit of DIY, so I made my own...

...using these three polishes:

Which are basically a darker green that I had lying around. A cheapie french manicure white-tip polish and a clear varnish to dilute it enough so that it goes on smoothly.

This is why she's hot...

This is why she's spicy. This is why she's a style icon.

(photo from: Garance Doré)

There's been much ado about LV's "Spicy" Sandals.

Thing is... I don't like them. They make no sense to me. Too kitschy, too cartoony... oh, I don't know... Too something... I just don't get it.

Yet Giovanna get's it perfectly right. Check out the details; how her red watch and blue braclet tie in with the colors in the shoes. She kept the colours of the outfit completly neutral so that the shoes could shine. Damn she's good!

I like her shoes...

I am LOVING Kourtney Kardashian's Givenchy Lace Up Cage Jelly Sandals.

Her bag is cute too...
